Pratham and Barclays join hands in Rural Entrepreneurship

Barclay’s along with a leading NGO- Pratham is coming forward to groom young budding entrepreneurs from Rural India. Pratham, NGO focusing on Child education, would look to search for rural youth who have zeal to create wealth by becoming an entrepreneur and will provide them skills in their area of interest, but the necessary funding support or the initial investment for the business will be made available by Barclay’s.
The main motive of this tie-up would be to focus on grooming rural entrepreneurs in various activities like dairies, farming, automobiles
servicing and even small scale industries. This project will be coming up in those areas where major chunk of the population comes under poverty line. Few areas which are identified include Satara, Sangli and Lonavla regions.
No doubt that this is one of the up coming initiatives in Rural India that too in the middle of so called recession. It is really commendable that companies having better track record are coming forward and are making initiatives to transform the unreached Indian villages.
It would be really interesting to see the impact of this partnership in generation of rural entrepreneurs.
